I am writing to send a big thank you for the generous $$$$ gift to Imperial Valley Food Bank. Your dollars have already been put to work and are helping to change lives at this very moment.
Each month, thousands of local residents with limited income are faced with a difficult decision: to pay bills or put food on their tables. In many cases, they feel compelled to choose the shelter and security of their homes or the necessity of their utilities or medical treatment as their top priority, and fill their stomachs – and those of their family – with whatever money is left.
As you know, this past year, the state of our economy has led to a nation-high unemployment rate in our county, resulting in a significant increase in the number of residents needing our assistance. This has made our need for public support more critical than ever.
